friends and the highland river(?)

(the last picture of Jill and the kiddos was taken by Chamberlain)
We have the coolest friends!
We went to the Highland River(?) and it was a blast.
Next time I will remember to bring some toy boats to race.
Thanks guys for making our summer that much sweeter,
and for reminding us about that fun little spot.

I had to throw this picture in as well.
1. It was taken by Taj, great job, awesome pic!
and
2. I think it shows just how much fun they were having.

my favorite photos and thoughts from the 4th of July.

I loved
Everyone in Red White and Blue
Being with my family
Seeing that adorable Baby Lex and all his fat rolls...so cute
The yummy hamburgers Eric and Mike made
The Two Sided Parade
The reaction of Chamberlain and Hudson when they saw Grandpa Lex in the Parade
My handsome hot dog Chef, and the fact that Xoch had his tasty hot dogs for breakfast the next day
Cowboy Golf
Chamberlain running from the fire trucks spraying water at the end of the parade
Spending the entire week with my sister, whom I dearly miss
Hudson and Chamberlain played AWESOME together all week long
Fireworks
The bajillion glow sticks that we bought for the 3 kids
Josh got to be with us all weekend
The afternoon at the Cave
Hudson working at the cave organizing the pens into friends
The beautiful red cliffs
And last but not least, that my dad ran the AC all week just for me and my big belly!

this must be my month!

That little boy in the picture would be Chamberlain!
This would be his second nap in less than a month.
He fell asleep on the way to the cave on Saturday.
The car was packed with all the family we could possibly stuff in there.
He must have been past tired, to fall asleep on the way to the Cave to see Grandpa
and Hudson waiting for him.
The best part is once we arrived at the Cave he stayed asleep, so we did what any other parent would do when they have a rare sleeping child.
We put him on the bench in the museum,
that my Dad, Truett, Tanner and Sage all slept on when they were little.
Something about the Cave makes little ones sleep so well, I think its the cold.
He stayed asleep until we closed. We had to wake him up, which is like torture for me.
I firmly believe you should never wake a sleeping baby, and yes he is way past the baby stages but at 3 he is still my baby.

The most fun part of having a sleeping child in the cave would be the tourist.
They walk by the sleeping child and think that he/she is a mannequin and not a real boy.
So the last couple to leave that day, I was chatting it up with and had mentioned my son and the ladies reaction was too great she burst into laughter and did not believe me that, the boy on the bench was real nor my son.
Chamberlain even slept with Hudson playing right next to him!

because of

(grandpa and grandma Johnson)

these two people,

we had all these people at my parents house, over Independence Day weekend.
For our 4th annual Johnson Family reunion.
Why do we have an all Arizona family reunion in Kanab, Utah every year?
Simple, the Cave, as much as Tanner requested when he was younger, doesn't travel well,
also its a little cooler in the high desert.
(not present; Uncle Steve and his family, Uncle Brian and his family, Uncle Jerry (RIP), Truett, Kyle and Tabitha, Bear and his kids, dogs: sadie, lucy, marshal, rudy, chuy, and sophie the cat and I believe that's all)

There were about 20 of us this year.
It just keeps getting better and better!
Thanks for coming ya'll.
Cant wait to see you next year.
Much love.

its about time

Its been over a month since we have seen these guys, and that month seemed like FOREVER!
Chamberlain all week wanted to hold baby Lex and wanted me to take a picture every time.

I think that Chamberlain and Hudson were in heaven.
They played from the time the roosters crowed till the sun went down.
 They played

and played
and played,
and we cant wait to play with them again at the end of the month when our new addition
arrives!
We love you Claybaughs!
