fun

We have been spoiled all week!
Shelbie, Hudson and Baby Lex were here.
We had so much fun.
We spent as much time together as we could, even if that meant helping her watchplay with the Beardall kids, which were a bunch of fun.
These guys Chamberlain and Hudson are only 9 months apart.

These babies Siri and Lex are 5 months apart.

We played and played and played and had fun fun fun.
We did so many fun things that I can't remember everything we did.
I do remember how we went to Trafalga and mini golfed and watched the kids ride the super fast go karts.

They left on a jet plane today and on the way to say goodbye Chamberlain had tears welling in his eyes and every time I asked if he was crying his eyes would get real big and he would tilt his forehead forward and say nnnoo.  He wanted so bad to go to the airport and wave goodbye to him.
Then I told him we would see Hudson soon and this time we would stay at his house and that's when he told me that we needed a fast car, a super fast car. I asked him just what kind of fast car do we need and he said
a big cement truck.

dare

We found a cricket today.
I dared any of the three kiddos playing at my house to pick it up.
Of course no one would, then I decided to SWEETEN the deal with "Americas Favorite Cookie".
{Double stuffed!}
Chamberlain as you can see pulled through!
I was so proud of him for picking up this cricket.
Crazy to be proud of cricket picking, I know.
He was scared at first especially when it jumped off his finger the first time, then he tried it again and realized it was harmless.
He was the only one who would pick it up or even touch it.
Chamberlain, Gunnar, and Faith

Such a sweet reward.

the dress

We took pictures today after church of Siri in her dress

 I love those chubby cheeks!

The photo above was taken by Chamberlain.
After, we drove to Bountiful to visit with Chris, Lesa and the girls one last time before they head to Poland.

what we did today.

We spent the day with these guys.
We went swimming and watched Kelli Jo rock in her soccer game.
She is so tough she plays on an all boy team.
Grandma and Grandpa Burgess are in town for meetings and we got to spend the day with them as well.
Chamberlain is going to be so sad when these girls and Uncle Dave have to leave for the winter.
We have LOVED every minute we got/get to spend with them this summer.

Finding Chamberlains toys in very particular arrangements (always by color) all throughout the house

my sleeping baby Siri
and this little number that I found on a blog that I cant remember
Its not everyday I see my sisters name and on top of that so fancy like.

Birthday BoY

Chamberlain's only request for his 4th birthday was to ride horses in Kanab.
So we did just that ... and more!
Thanks to my fabulous mother she planned a fun day at East Zion and we had a ton of fun!
We road horses, and ATV's, flew on a zip-line, swam in a lovely warm pool and played miniature golf!

I think the proudest moment for Josh and I was at the top of the zip-line Chamberlain was getting nervous and wasn't too sure he wanted to go.
Thanks to some coaxing from our awesome guide Courtney he mustard up the courage and jumped.
He loved it!
He even inspired Hudson to give a try.
If they could have, they would have zipped lined all day.

We spent the whole day at East Zion Ponderosa. All 11 of us had fun from my dainty Uncle mike from the hard to please teenage Sage college boy Tanner, to the up for anything grandparents and of course the young parents.
Lots of fun memories from Hudsons firs horse ride to Chamberlain riding on his own.
It was certainly a birthday to remember.

We cant wait to go again.

It was awesome.
On Sunday his actual day we went to Ali's farewell,
had a family dinner with a blue dinosaur cake and presents.
It was a fun 4th birthday.

Chamberlain has told me several times today how much he loves his birthday.
We loved it too.
Happy Birthday Son!

smiling siri

Siri started smiling at us this week.
Which in return makes us smile.
Chamberlains favorite thing to do all day is to try and get her to smile,
even when she is sleeping, which... is not my favorite.
We love Siri's smile.

bed head

This little girl has cRaZy hair,
and she's only a month old.
I can only imagine what its going to look like when she is 5!
Every morning its something new.
I absolutely love it.

Observation.
I do not think my sweet mother in-law is a fan of how we style Siri's hair with the Mohawk.
We spent the first part of the week with Sandi and every time she would see her she would brush Siri's hair to the side.
Almost like she was trying to get it to lay flat.
I thought it was funny, because she so graciously does it.
But her hair, the Mohawk, just naturally flows that way.
And again I absolutely love it.

Oh and don't mind the boxes in the background.
We are moving...AGAIN, in fact we will be outta her tomorrow.
I'm sure I will post about it soon.

we are Mormon

look how big that circle is

Mormons meet in Circles.

Its true.
Next time you are with your peoples just take a gander at how ya'll are standing.
Most likely you will be standing in a perfect circle where everyone can see each others face.

We went to Uncle Dean's (Josh's uncle) house to a BBQ for FHE.

From the huge circle pictured above you can tell we did a lot of chatting/catching up.

The kids however did a lot of playing.

from swinging

to shooting hoops

and shooting more hoops.

Happy Labor Day.

fried cheese curds

This past weekend
mi madre, Sagers, Siri and I drove ourselves to Midway for Swiss Days, while the boys stayed home to watch the Cougars get their first win of the season, football that is.
Our favorite of the day would be the
Fried Cheese Curds in the picture below.
Sounds not so tasty but oh they were soo good!

Our other favorite
would be this little outfit we found as well as a few others.
I think growing up in a small cowboy town you have a tiny place in your heart for western things especially vintage.

Oh and Sage's favorite find was some charms and they are oh so cute.
 Sage holding up her charms.
We also found a charm that had Siri on it.
Crazy!!!
It's of a bird and in the background are the letters
Siri
so of course Grandma had to buy it.
I dont think I will ever see something like that again with her name on it, aside from the dingy that's named after my Aunt Siri.

Cant wait to see what we find next year!

blessed day

Today was Siri's blessing day.
It was filled with family and a few friends.
She was blessed by her father Joshua and it was a beautiful blessing.
She wore vintage.
My Grandma Laura handmade my Aunt Siri's baby dresses out of flour sacks.
Over the years my Aunt passed those on to us.
Siri was blessed in my Aunt Siri's dress.
However, I wasnt able to get  any photos of Siri in her dress.
We of course were running late and so I told myself after church we will get photos.
As soon as the Amen was said in the closing prayer she blasted through her clothes.
We quickly had to rush home and change her outfit.
Thus no pictures.
Hopefully this week we can "re-create" the moment and take some pictures.
She is beautiful.

namesake

Aunt Siri with baby Siri.
Aunt Siri and Uncle Jerry came to visit two weekends ago and it was nice to see them.
This is how Siri got her namesake.
My Grandma Laura had a good friend who was named Siri, she was Swedish.
Which my Grandma just loved, and named her only girl Siri (my dads sister).
Josh and I, when time came to name our baby girl we slept on it over night.
We had several names that we liked but just didnt feel right for our girl.
Early the next morning both of us felt that her name should be Siri and thus how she got her name.
We really like the fact that Siri is not a common name.
I have never met another Siri and Josh had never met one until he came into the family.
We also wanted a name that had meaning and had family history.
Siri
(pronounced sear-E not Sur-e)
means "Good fortune,"
and
I believe its origin, from the spelling, is form Thailand, well thats what my Aunt Siri told me anyway.
To sum this up our Siri was named Siri because
1. we love that my Grandma loved the name Siri,  I love my Grandma (may she Rest In Peace)
2. Its Unique
and
3. It's in our family history, which is kind of a trend in the naming of our children.
