here we go again

This handsome fella started school today.
Those fun summer days have come to end I believe.

A part of me is dreading the 15 hour days without him at school/work and the other part of me is just glad we are getting that much closer to graduating and moving on.
Lucky for me I have two little ones to keep my mind busy during those hours that he is away.
Rise and Shout!

Ps. Chamberlain starts pre-school tomorrow.
Its going to be interesting since he keeps telling me he does not want to go to school and he wants to stay home with me.

bleu ribbon

My brother Truett has a CrAzy phobia of MOLD.
He is obsessed with checking expiration dates.
So much so that even when he comes over for Sunday dinner almost every week he has to ask how old the food was that I prepared.
He is afraid that the MOLD is going to attach to his insides and set up shop or even worse make a cozy home on his face and then doctors are going to have to amputate and remove half his face, or other needed parts.
ObSeSsEd!

Well the newlyweds joined my father and my family at Red Robin yesterday for dinner. We had a lovely time.
It went something like this.

As it came time to order, Truett, informs us that he thinks he is going to order the Bleu Ribbon Burger.
I asked Truett several times {along with all the other witnesses at the table} do you know what Bleu Cheese is. Truett's response, No I do not, but it looks good and I'm going to try something new, venture to the unknown, he says.
* Order was placed *
Throughout our Towering Onion Ring appetizer, all the witnesses at the table kept asking, now, Truett are you sure you want to try the Bleu Ribbon Burger? His reply, Yes, in-which, Truett finally starts questioning his decision.
I had been patiently waiting for his burger to arrive and for him to devour every morsel, and then I would tell him exactly what bleu cheese really is.  This was not to be, my sweet husband Josh decided to drop the news that Bleu Cheese is of course MOLD.  Oh if only I had pulled my camera out a bit sooner! The look on his face was priceless. Truett was in such disbelief that he had to pull out his iphone to get online and look up Bleu Cheese.  Of course the firs thing it says in defining bleu cheese is MOLD. He immediately starts blaming us for not telling him that Bleu Cheese is mold and how he isnt going to eat it and how dare we let him order that and a whole bunch of excuses were coming out of his mouth.  I dont think I have ever seen him get so blamefull (which I know is not a word).  Silly boy, he is nearly 25 and is responsible for his own decisions, right!
I pulled out the camera because I wasn't going to miss the look on his face when the burger arrived.

This is right after the waitress put the burger down. He was a little mad and at this point telling me that I am not going to take pictures of this!
Which of course I did not listen.

Is this him praying that the cooks forgot the Bleu Cheese.
No this is him holding back his vomit, I'm pretty sure.
Such a kind father. Offering a trade, my dad ordered the Cobb Salad, which of course comes with Bleu Cheese.
It literally took him over 5 minutes to gather the courage to take a bite.
He goes for it.
That's a REALLY big first bite if you ask me.
At this point he is yelling I can't swallow, I can't swallow.
The face after the swallow.
The witnesses.
The Bleu Ribbon Burger.
The final expression of the night.
I don't think that Truett will be ordering the Bleu Ribbon Burger anytime soon!
I don't think I have laughed this hard in a long long time! We all were laughing hard, except for Truett.
We kept teasing him that the Mold was going to get him in his sleep.

flowers

This little boy loves bringing his mommy mama (is what he calls me) flowers everyday.
I haven't the heart to tell him that these flowers are actually weeds.
So I pour on the hugs and kisses and Thank you very much's.
*   *   *   *
Everyday these bloom in our yard and everyday I get piles and piles of them.
He has started putting them around the house, and at the end of the day I throw them back outside.
Because by the end of the day, water or no water, they wilt and die.
I figure its better than the trash.

Just another sweet thing I love about Chamberlain.

a video and several pictures

Sorry I have no idea how to flip the video
plus I took this with my phone so its bit grainy

Josh decided to surprise Chamberlain with a bike this morning.
(since the bike we bought him last summer is way too big but still supper cool, go cougs!)
He rode it for about 2 minutes with the training wheels on and decided he wanted them off.

So we took them off and off he went.
 Chamberlain road all day.
He even wanted to ride during a the thunderstorm we had at lunch.
I made him come in.
Such a mean mom.

He sat at the door and waited for the last drop to fall and he was back out side riding again!
We had to pull out a hat, gloves, shoes and some long sleeves to keep warm but he had fun.

He had the biggest grin.
He also took the longest nap!
Both of my jewels slept all {late} afternoon.
And when we had to come in at 9 PM
he asked me if dad could put his training wheels back on for tomorrow.

Chamberlain loves Siri

Chamberlain LOVES having a new baby around the house.
He is so proud of Siri.
He tells EVERYONE about his new baby sister,
from the store clerk, to his primary class, to people he doesn't even know.
He tells anyone and everyone, and does so with the biggest smile.
He constantly wants to hold her and smothers her with kisses.
He tells Josh and I through out the day all the things he is going to teach her,
like how to play the Wii.

a note to my father in-law

Ken-
I know that Ken will most likely not read this, however it was just too tasty not to share with a fellow peanut butter and chocolate connaisseur.
{and maybe, just maybe my lovely mother in-law will pass on the sweet news}
I found another UBBER tasty Peanut Butter and Chocolate (recipe link)treat.
In fact it was so tasty that everyone had seconds, during Sunday
dinner.
{you know you did Chris, Lesa, Dave, Josh, Zoe, Chamberlain and Kelli Jo}
In fact this delish dish went so fast I was only able to get two pictures.
Fellow sweet eater Zoe.
By the look on her face I think she loved it too.

8.9.10

Just Married.
Truett got married on Monday.
Due to my sub par, photog skills, this is the only picture I was able to snap of the bride and groom.
I must say they both looked lovely though.
Truett was all smiles from ear to ear the whole morning.
There is something about seeing your younger siblings getting married.
Its so weird, however, happy and exciting at the same time.
We are happy for you Truett.
Note to self:
When dealing with little children who have been patiently waiting all day on Temple square in the hot sun of August
bring water and snacks for them.
Or else you may end up with cranky, hot, not wanting to smile or be in any picture, children!

The Grandparents doing their best to keep them entertained.

The Parking Lot.
Now this was a story all of its own.
You see the ceremony took place at 9:40 AM.
We were to be seated a half hour before.
We arrived at 9, however it took us till 9:39 to find a spot to park.
Who new it would be crazy busy on a Monday.
Luckily since I am the sister of the groom they waited for us.
Its nice to have perks ;)

The Bride and Groom did not want a reception or anything of that matter only a "small" luncheon for the people in attendance of the Temple Ceremony and a few close friends.
They reserved
Noah's
and had a light lunch.
Which ended up being great for those of us with kids.
The pictures above and below are of the kids and how we kept them entertained.
Good thing for us Noah's isn't that busy on a Monday afternoon, unlike the Temple.
We had two empty rooms to keep them happy!
Pool anyone?
Aunt Suzie with baby Siri
Siri by the way was awesome!
She slept most of the day away.
I was nervous on how this whole day was going to pan out with a newborn,
but she did great.
I think of the whole day this was my favorite part.
We sent Chamberlain to his room to change his clothes so we could go
party it up with Shelbie and Tim one last time before they head back to the valley of the sun.
After awhile Josh and I realized that it was pretty quiet in his room.
We went and checked on him and this is what we found.
Too bad we had to wake him up shortly after.

Chamberlain really must have liked Noah's.
Every time we ask him what he would like to eat for Lunch
he requests Noah's.

two weeks and a day.

Siri
had her 2 week check up today.
In 2 weeks and a day she has grown to
 8 lbs. 6 oz.
&
21.5 Inches long
Which means she has grown 3 inches and 2 plus pounds in just two weeks and a day.
In fact the nurse and the doctor when checking her weight and height
mentioned typically babies do not grow that fast, so we double checked her height, and she really grew 3 inches.
Due to "our" height they could see how she could grow that fast.
Siri sleeps and sleeps and sleeps and sleeps.
Siri also sleeps through most of the night waking between 4 am and 5 am to eat and goes back to sleep till 9 am or 10 am.
Which is super for me and especially nice for Josh since he is the one who gets up with her during the night.
Such a good hubby that Josh of mine!
Siri is starting to hold her head up for short periods of time and is awake for an hour or so in the morning and and hour or more in the evening and just observes whats going on around her.  She loves to be wrapped up tight in her blankies.  She is out of preemie clothing {yes she wore preemie clothing the first week or so of her life} and finally into Newborn sizes.
Siri is doing so well, and growing so fast and we love her so much.
Such a treat this little darling is.

Things of Note:
Siri is still a few ounces smaller than baby Lex was at Birth.
It blows my mind how small Siri is/was.

what a difference a day makes...

baby Lex @ 5 months & baby Siri @ 5 days

or 5 months.
Look at Lex's thighs don't you just want to squeeze them!
This just shows how tiny Siri really is,
and what a chunk Lex is.
I cant believe how small she is.
I guess I'm just used to being around big people,
and its so foreign to have something so small.
Siri is so precious.
Lex is such a smiley baby.
He really is happy all the time.
Its been so fun to have Shelbie, Hudson, and baby Lex here
for the past two plus weeks.
What a treat/blessing for us.
Before Lex and Siri were born,
we took bets to see how long it would be when my child passes up her child in size.
However, I think that she has me beat on this one.

Lets be friends!

love multiplies.

It really does.
It's amazing how much love you can have for these little ones.
I cant get enough of them.
Time is flying by at our house.
I just want it to slow down for a minute or two
so I can soak up every moment.

something to celebrate.

Siri.
Early Wednesday morning, after 4 short hours of labor, this little darling finally arrived.
Weighing in at 6.10 and at 18 inches long
we couldn't be happier,
especially with all that dark hair.
We are so in love.
A very happy family.

One extremely excited big brother.

And one proud papa.
