Siri got a hair cut

We went up for baby Navy's blessing and while we were there we chopped Siri's hair!
I was so over trying to do her hair and it was kind of getting a little stingy at the ends. This was her first hair cut. We called up Shelbies awesome sister in law Cami and we headed over to her house at like 11 pm!
Siri was so still on the chair I think its because she was beyond tired. When it came time to blow dry she fell asleep! Now that its short I LOVE it and cant imagine at this point in time growing it out.
When I was looking for a before photo because of course I forgot to take one! I had to go clear back to Christmas to find a photo of her hair down. I pulled it back everyday I should have realized just looking through photos that short hair would be the way to go!

Harrison 8 Months

Harrison you turned 8 months in March and I did snap some pictures while we were cooped up at home.
Harrison you were crawling all over the place. I let you play naked in the mornings and as soon as I take that diaper off you flip yourself over and start your getaway.  Your life at this point consisted of eating more and more solids and keeping up with Siri and Chamberlain. You followed them all throughout the house just a happy little camper as long as you could be near all the action and most of the time center of attention. You love to climb all over the red striped rocking chair and choose that one over the pink rocking chair every time.
You are one determined little boy. I feel you have are more outgoing at an earlier age than Siri and Chamberlain. It seems you have no fear.
Really you are happy all the time and sleep well.
You have been such a joy and blessing.

Where did the month of March go?

Its been too long since I last updated so I decided to do a monthly update to catch up for my own records and when I make these into blog books.

How about one more picture of the team from Chamberlains first official basketball season. Oh and I think the coach is a handsome one.
March.
Where did this  month go?! Oh yes it was spent in the hospital and in Dr. Offices with 2 very sick kids. If we weren't at the hospital or Dr.'s Office we were home away from everyone stuck on the couch watching too much Disney Channel and Movies because the younger two were again too sick to do anything but lay around.
I think I would chalk this month as one of the scariest as a parent praying like crazy for your child to breath on their own.  Not having to fly to Primary Children's was definitely an answer to prays and a highlight of the month.
Both Siri and Harrison had Bronchitis. Siri also had RSV and Pneumonia as well thus being her stay in the hospital.  Harrison was a champ and only had to see the Dr. a couple of times and was able to get better on his own. Siri caught us by surprise. She was perfectly healthy one day and the next day (Josh's Birthday to be exact) was super weak that we ended up taking her to the ER. They sent us home after her oxygen levels went up. However, we ended up in the hospital within 24hrs and stayed there for the rest of the week. At one point during the first night they were going to fly her to Primary Children's Hospital but lots of prayers and a few hours of waiting her oxygen levels started to rise enough to keep her in St.George close to us. That would have been extremely hard for me to deal with since I was at the time still nursing Harrison and he was sick and to have to travel up north it would have not been easy.  I am grateful for all the prayers that were offered in our behalf. I feel extremely blessed that she was able to stay in St.George and more blessed that my mom was able to drop everything and come stay and entertain Chamberlain and Harrison at home. Which let me be with her all day and then home in the evenings for Harrison. She brought Harrison to and from the hospital and I would nurse him in the car in the parking lot and she would got sit with Siri and Josh. We feel so blessed to live here close to them.
She recovered but it took all month and into April. We did nothing but stay home for the most part.
Josh literally spent every minute with her in the hospital. I called him home from work to take her to the ER while I stayed with the other kid.   He never left except one day to come home and shower. He was her constant with new nurses and new Dr.'s coming in to check on her take her vitals and oxygen levels she was confused and the drugs they had on her made her angry and crazy. She stuck to him like glue and for the first time in her short life she didn't want her Mama. I think they bonded in that week and have had the cutest relationship ever since. In away I'm grateful for that time they got to spend together just the two of them.

As I look back through photos I noticed that we did, before the hospital stint, make it to see the water rising in the new reservoir in Kanab. What a fun time that will be when its full and we can canoe and fish!

Organized basketball

This February we signed Chamberlain up for his first go at organized basketball.
He played in the 1st and 2nd grade level.  He is the youngest in the league and the best part; Josh was his coach.
So far so good.
I'm pretty sure he will want to play next year.
He and Siri scouting out the competition.
He is the only one who dribbles the entire time down the court without traveling.
 Goes in for the rebound.

His cheering section as well as his biggest fans.
Chamberlain said he feels he plays better when Grandma and Grandpa Chamberlain are there. Being the Amazing grandparents they are they have come to many games and Chamberlain has loved it.

Go Hurricane Tigers.

missing two front teeth

Its official Chamberlain has crossed the two front teeth missing threshold. I always feel this is somewhat a milestone for big boy status.
He lost the right one first and then the left one a week later.
He would not let us pull his last front tooth, it was hanging on by a thread. He had a traumatic experience at the dentist office once and now he will not let anyone get near his teeth.
Josh and I thought it would be a brilliant idea to youtube old videos of AFV where kids pulled their teeth out in creative ways but I think that only made him more afraid. Then we remembered we had a huge remote control monster truck that both he and Josh got for Christmas 3 years ago. Chamberlain took to the idea. I quickly (while he was excited about this idea) hooked the tooth to some string and then to the truck and let him do it on his own. No luck.  The truck was not strong enough and Chamberlain wasn't brave enough to let it go full force.

However, the string got stuck on his tooth and we couldn't get it off. Josh gave it a good pull and out it came, screaming and all!
He has now lost 7 of his teeth.

finding joy in the little things

Josh and I are currently finding joy in parenting when Siri goes to sleep.
She takes awhile to get to sleep. We put her in her room lay her on her bed and before we know it we hear singing, talking and quiet the imaginative party going on in her room. Most nights we remember to lock all the toys in her closet but somehow she finds a few things and has adventures all on her own.

We let her. We never go in and remind her its time for bed. She eventually falls asleep within 15-30 minutes of putting her to bed.  Most of the time she falls asleep in her bed but some of the time its a game for us... Where's Waldo Siri style.
Josh and I find ourselves excited to check on her to see where she may be. Its always a surprise and most of the time we have to take off whatever made up costume she has dressed herself in. We love it and to us this is some of the "Joy" or highlights or parenting.

Passed out with her mittens on.
We are loving this stage that Siri is in.

Harrison 7 months

Harrison~
It seems that as soon as you could sit on your own you immediately started to crawl.
I believe its because you still desperately want to play with the big kids!
You have been crawling all around the house for the past 3 weeks and this last week you've decided that crawling is not enough and have already been pulling yourself onto things like the couch and your exersaucer.
Because of this activity you have acquired some big boy bruises on your forehead from taking a few tumbles.
You are a mover and a shaker for sure.
You love it when Chamberlain and Siri are playing with their toys on the living room floor you just join right in and mimic everything they do.
I love all the smiles and laughs they can get out of you.

You have been sleeping through the night for an entire month now and I feel like a new person.
You take great naps in the morning and most afternoons when we are home.
You are one happy baby!
You have 4 teeth which have popped through on the bottom and two on the top that are just about to come through.
Lets just say you have been one droolly baby, but again a happy one.
My favorite day, or I should say the day I look forward to the most with you at the moment is Sundays.
Your nap time is when we are at church and most Sundays you just fall asleep and let me hold you all 3 hours. I love it. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Your favorite thing currently is when I empty out the toys and you like to yell/talk into the empty tub.
You love the echo and deep sound it makes.

Big enough to crawl onto the chair.
