We (just like every ward across the country) had our ward Halloween Party this weekend.
Chamberlain has been planning his Halloween costume for months well at least since September.
Siri really hasn't caught on to the costume part but she has defiantly got the treat part down!
As for Mr. Harrison he is just happy to be held no matter what we are doing.
So about an hour or so before our ward party was to start Chamberlain asked; what are you going to be Mom (parents) for Halloween. I tried to convince him I was going as his mom but he did not want that. Chamberlain insisted that I go as a princess and that dad as my knight. How sweet on his part. That for sure was not going to happen and I realized that he was not going to let us go with dressing up and that this was important to him.
So Josh and I with an hour to figure something out and get the kids ready we came up with something...
I went as an overwhelmed crazy mom and Josh went as Dwight Schrute, although surprisingly people had no clue who Dwight Schrute is.
Oh and Miss Siri I must mention the 45 minute tantrum/melt down that you had before we left. All because I would not let you paint your own face with my acrylic paint. I painted chamberlains face with the Batman symbol since there are no masks allowed in the church and you insisted we paint your face next. You patiently picked out your favorite paints, hot pink, hot turquoise, purple, and yellow. You pick out a brush and were so excited for me to paint your face until I painted the first mark and then you realized...you wanted to paint your own face. I tried to get water colors for you to paint while I worked on your face paint but nothing would suffice, and I was NOT going to let you use acrylic paint with no clothing protection. So you threw yourself on the ground and cried hot steamy tears and thought we were the WORST parents ever! But you quickly changed your mind when the neighbor kids came over to show off their costumes.
Happy Halloween 2012
Its safe to know as a mother that my house is protected with a dangerous Batman.
Our paint production.
My handsome Hottie Dwight
Crazy mom look.
Mr. Harrison ended up being my lap puppy all night at the party. He slept soundly while they played the monster mash and all sorts of loud crazy music with crazy loud kids and adults.
My favorite part of the night was that people didnt know how to approach me in the ward. I think they just thought I had smeared my lipstick and did not realize it was supposed to be this way...maybe I need to rethink about getting ready everyday.
