Our last stop on our break was K-town. My mom had to work since my dad had meetings.
Chamberlain wanted to be with his Grandma so we went to work.
Boy did we have fun.

I think all of my family members along with my friends who have visited the cave have pictures in front of the Ti-pi with Chief Moqui. I believe that almost all children that come to the cave have a hard time going past this point. Chief Moqui is scary. In fact when I was growing up Grandpa Garth had Chief Moqui rigged so that he would talk to you as you walked by and move his tomahawk. It freaked me out. I would close my eyes and run past as fast as I could. From the looks of this picture it seems to me that Chamberlain has the same reservations as I. He always had to have someone go back there with him. Now that I think about it, in our earlier years of marriage, before Chamberlain, Josh and I had a boxer named Boba and she was even scared to go back there.

Working in a cave all day, especially when it is busy, you have to be really creative in finding things for a 3 year old to do. I can't imagine taking Chamberlain to work everyday like my Grandparents did, as well as my parents.
We just happened to have his Razor in the car with us. I remember my brothers riding from the entry way all the way back to the fluorescent minerals on their big wheels. I also remember my Grandma Laura telling me of the roller skating parties my Aunt Siri had there as a child. I thought why not pull out the Razor. Its about a 200 ft. ride down hill. He loved it. Best of all it kept him busy. Notice Josh in the background. That's because someone had to stand by Chief Moqui so he could scooter past.

After school Auntie Sage came to join us. This is Chamberlain's best friend.
He follows her everywhere.
At the cave we have a door frame where my Grandpa Garth kept track of my dad and his siblings height. My parents have kept up the tradition. Every year we all get measured, along with spouses, cousins, good friends, and employees.
We measured Chamberlain this trip and he is the same height as Sage when she was 5 and the same height as Truett when he was about 6, and a hair shorter than Shelbie when she was 5. Remember that he is ONLY 3.
Grandma has been doing some cleaning and remodeling of the curio. She happened to come across my Mickey Mouse watch that I got when I was in the 5th or 6th grade at Disneyland. I remember picking it out and I remember the red watch that Shelbie picked out with Minnie. My watch still works, and it totally fits Chamberlain. When he wears it, I think it makes him look like a real boy and not a toddler anymore. He is so grown up.
I just liked this picture. He is always pulling faces. Plus
its with his best friend, Auntie Sage.
