I believe one of the many, many, many reasons why my children LOVE to go to Grandmas house is because of all the fun, entertaining and random things she has for them to do.
It seems that as soon as we pile out of the car we hit the ground running with one exciting adventure after another. Even when we plan on just going over to swim and spend a lazy day outside there is always a trip to the cave and that is an adventure in and of itself. We never run out of things to do and before we know it its like 10 at night and time for us to drive back home.
A few Sundays ago did not disappoint, when Grandma let Josh pull out the Penny Farthing.
Grandma had used the Penny Farthing for a wedding the night before and had not returned it to the rightful owner so we took it for a spin tried to take it for a spin.
It was perfect weather for learning to ride a Penny Farthing.
It was all fun and games until Josh broke it.
I guess I should mention that when we called the guy to tell him it broke he said; "No worries it breaks there all the time, just bring it back I'll weld it again and when Im done he can come back down and ride it."
The sad thing is Josh never got it fully going. He would give the peddles a few turns before he would crash into the ground or the BBQ or the wood post or whatever might be in his way.
We sure had fun watching him.
I think its harder than it looks.
