new beds.

Over Fall break we found Siri a big girl bed.
When my parents picked it up from the previous owner my mother also spotted another sweet headboard for Chamberlain. At the time it was made to fit a twin but Season (that was her real name) said she could easily add a few more pallets to fit a queen.
Score!
I looked forever for the right bed for Siri. I dont know why I like old things instead of just buying new.  Maybe its the story that comes along with it or maybe the better quality of craftsmanship, whatever it is I feel I always buy used and thrift-ed instead of brand new.  I should insert that this is only for house hold items not clothes. I prefer to have new clothes...

Siri's bed does have some history. She hails from Hailey, Idaho, where Season was from.
She bought it from a very old (nearly 100 years old) house that had just sold to some new owners. The new owners bought everything in it and decided to sell a few pieces. The bed was one.
As far as Season knows she was the 2nd or so owner and she never got around to using it, so she decided to post it on Craigslist and that's where I found it.
Season had her husband weld a new frame for me and since the paint most likely is lead I sealed it.
Both of my children love their new beds. However,
I nor Josh have enjoyed the new found freedom Siri has to come into our room  in the middle of the night, some nights multiple times...
She does make it a little sweeter by saying in her highest sweetest voice, "Good Morning!".

And here is Chamberlain's new headboard...
