We took our last (hopefully last) weekend getaway before baby #3 comes and headed to the coast.
We have a little less than 4 weeks and figured we were pushing our luck but the children needed to see Grandparents and have a weekend of pure fun and entertainment before the new one arrives and life slows down with weekend trips and last minute live on the fly activities.
Both Chamberlain and I have been wanting to sink our toes in the warm sand of the beach and that's just what this trip was about...beaches and grandparents.
I think weekend trips to the beach might become the norm around here seeing that it took us a mere 5 hours or less from our new location. Compare that to the 10+ hours from Provo and time flew by. I can totally see the need for Disneyland passes can't you?!
Our only goal on Saturday was to go to the beach and that's pretty much all we did and enjoyed every windy and warm minute of it.
Siri is a fan of water no matter how cold or how hot she is all in.
The waves were constant which kept Siri running back and forth and back and forth from the water. Perfect activity to tire a nearly 2 year old right out!
Chamberlain on the other hand is more observant. Fellow beachers sitting close by had a big toy truck full of sand crabs that they had collected and showed the kids. This was Chamberlain's first time seeing real live sand crabs and the rest of the day was spent digging in the wet sand searching for these fascinating sea creatures. It was nice to sit in the sun while the kids played and played and listen to Ken and Sandi reminisce about their children growing up at the beach and all the fun and funny things they did there.
We followed the beach up by having omelets at Cappys.
